Lord Ganesha Knits by ArtemisiaSynchroma Lord Ganesha Knits by ArtemisiaSynchroma
This is a tattoo design for a friend who's a knitter. I changed Ganesh's traditional axe and rope to scissors and yarn.

I have a black and white version posted too.

Prints are available, contact me at joanna at joannabarnum dot com for details. This is NOT available for re-use as a tattoo design.

<3 Thanks for the DD and all the comments, everyone! I don't have time to respond to each person individually but your feedback is still very much appreciated.

I also have my print available through Etsy now: [link]

Lord Ganesha Knits by ~ArtemisiaSynchroma. An innovative and well thought out change on the usual, done with fantastic skill. ( Suggested by tiganusi and Featured by Pixel-Spotlight )

I didn't realise this was traditional media until I saw the category - this is an amazing painting! And I love that you've drawn Ganesha in a 'dancing' pose - you don't see that very often. :) (The exchange of his usual 'sweets' with a lollipop is adorable. xD)

There's something that I really like about how you've shadowed and highlighted his skin. : O Also, are the 'stains' near the lotus petals (in his hand) meant to be there? I can't tell. > >

Thank you!
There's a statue of Ganesha dancing in a museum near me, and it's so very much how you'd imagine an elephant dancing and swaying, it's delightful... so that was the inspiration. I don't know that I captured his motion nearly as well as the ancient sculpture.
The color around the lotus petals is supposed to be a bit of atmosphere emphasizing the floating petals, I guess.

Cool! This is such a great idea. I'm a knitter (like your friend) and have been trying to think of a really original idea that symbolizes my love for knitting. Although I wouldn't get this tattooed, this gives me inspiration!
