Artist's Comments

Another in the series of the mythological alphabet. I really need to get cracking on more of these. I'm looking for models (male and female, all shapes and ages), if anyone might be interested in taking some photos they'd allow me to use for this project. I can't afford to pay, but I'd be willing to trade a print of the final piece.

This is Epona, Gaulish goddess of plenty and protectress of horses and riders. She was later adopted by the Romans. The model was my former roommate Jess, who is a lovely redhead.

Wow, it's quite beautiful--I love the way the atmosphere is so dreamy but the strong colors in her face carry a lot of intensity to them. Very nice :)

I really like what you did with the colors here. Jess...er.. Epona stands out above the cornucopia, but below seems to almost blend with the horse. (The foal's a nice touch too) ^_^

btw, what kind of poses are you looking for (for your later alphabet pieces)
:iconartemisiasynchroma:
I haven't really planned all the rest of the alphabet yet, I'm working on it. Uh, god-like poses?

You are so good at painting,I wish I were too.

Joanna, you really should consider applying for work at a publishing graphic design department with a focus on fantasy oriented work.

I think that would be the fastest way to get your career going further and that your work is what they would be looking or. This series in particular I think could get you a high paying in-house job if you can find the right company. I know you want to do freelance but your speed and skill could also get you a full time job to start out with.

I'll model if you need my shape.

And all is one.

I'll call you on that once I get around to planning the rest of them.

I'm open to the possibility, but could you elaborate? I don't really know anything about how publishers are set up in-house, or that there even was the possibility of that sort of position for an illustrator who doesn't know graphic design
